Youth Programs

DTP provides supportive and comprehensive, multi-faceted programs for youth players aged 4-18 years. These include small group technical and tactical instruction, practice matches, unstructured hitting time, competitive, fitness, and nutrition.

Program Changes for Winter Session III

Winter Session III is one of the busiest periods of the year at the DTP. To ensure a smooth experience, we are adjusting our youth programming to work alongside the University of Denver tennis teams’ competitive season and Denver Public Schools Girls High School season. Here’s what you need to know:

  • No Matchplay: Due to the University of Denver and DPS extensive home match and practice schedule, the free matchplay addition will not be offered during Winter Session III, as there aren’t enough dates available for all classes.

  • Session Adjustments: Although the session spans 11 weeks (our previous communication listed 9 weeks in error), some classes (especially on Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays) will meet only 7 or 9 weeks. These classes will be prorated at checkout. We will send out reminders on which dates will be missed.

  • Thursday Elementary Orange/Green Ball Classes: Thursday is a 9-class session spanning over 11 weeks. On four specific dates (01/16, 01/30, 02/20, and 03/13), we’ll have limited court availability, so only half the players will attend on each of those dates. Families will be notified at the start of the session which 2 of the 4 dates their players will be scheduled to attend.

  • Split Sunday Classes: High School IDP and Middle School IDP classes will be split into Winter Session III-A and Winter Session III-B, each lasting 4 weeks. You may request to be in either or both. Monday and Wednesday classes will span the full 11 weeks.

  • Registration Request Week: Registration requests for Winter Session III open Sunday, December 1-Saturday, December 7 online at dtp.clubautomation.com.

View our class flyers below to see how your classes are impacted. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we prepare for an exciting new year!

Registration Request Week

To manage demand for our youth programs and ensure fair accessibility for all families, we use a registration request lottery system. During Registration Request Week, you can log into your DTP Club Automation account and register for classes you are interested in.

Registration during this week does not mean you are enrolled in the program. It means you have submitted your request for participation in a particular class/day.

Players must have a free DTP Club Automation account in order to register. A 10% deposit is required at check-out.

At the end of Registration Request Week, we review the number of requests that are submitted for each class. When there are more requests submitted than actual spots available for a class, we hold a lottery to assign spots.

For players who do not make it into the class, they are automatically placed on the wait list and will receive a refund of the 10% deposit.

Accounts will be charged 14 days prior to program start date. All registration changes must be made 14 days prior to program start date for account credit. There are no refunds.

Elementary Programs

We offer group classes for elementary aged players between 4-11 years old using red balls, orange balls, and green balls.

Players will learn the game of tennis and develop the tennis essentials in a fun, supportive environment under the DTP Pathway/USTA ROGY system!

Middle School Programs

Our middle school programs are offered at the instructional, intermediate, and advanced tournament levels for players between 11-14 years old.

Instructional level classes are ideal for beginners and players still new learning the basic techniques of the sport, while intermediate and ADP tournament team level classes are designed for players who are ready to learn more advanced strokes and strategies to use in match situations.

High School Programs

High school tennis has experienced a growth in participation and competition in recent years like none other, and we're here to support high school players of every level.

Players between the ages of 13-18 years old will find a home team in one of our instructional, intermediate, tournament team, and advanced level high school programs.
