We are a kids first organization that contributes to and leverages a strong Denver tennis community toward a better future for Denver.
To serve all kids and the whole kid. We believe in the power of physical and mental fitness to change lives.
That all Denver youth have the tools, opportunities, support, and abilities too contribute to a thriving and inclusive community.
Our Core Values
The Denver Tennis Park is an independent, 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to the development of youth through the game of tennis. Whether at our state-of-the-art facility or on community courts we are inspired by what tennis can do to build skills and create opportunities for kids in and with diverse communities, backgrounds, and abilities. Formed in 2017, the Denver Tennis Park (DTP) is the result of a public-private partnership between the University of Denver (DU), which contributed directly to the construction of our facility, and Denver Public Schools (DPS), which has allowed us to lease the land our facility is on at virtually no cost, and private philanthropy. As a result, our programming and facility has a deep commitment to supporting and leveraging DU and DPS’s interests in youth development and tennis. The DTP facility is home to the DU men’s and women’s NCAA Division I tennis and is the host to various DPS high school team practices and/or matches.
We strive to bring together a diverse team of committed coaches and professionals with a rich background in tennis and youth training. While we provide programming and services to adults, all of our coaches must have experience in and a deep commitment to working with kids. For the DTP that means we create a fun, challenging, and team-oriented environment for everyone involved. Tennis is our tool as we contribute to the character, mental wellness, physical strength, and discipline of the youth we serve.
UNIVERSITY OF DENVER
The Denver Tennis Park is proud to be the home courts of the University of Denver NCAA Division 1 men’s and women’s tennis teams. Our prime location allows for a single venue for practices, competitions, and tournaments. Admission to home matches is free, and the public is invited to support some of the best tennis in the area!
As an academic institution, DU is also committed to integrating its education goals with its dedication to advancing public good. The DTP partners with DU students and faculty from Sports Psychology to Social Work integrating our youth development and community engagement goals with DU’s academic and charitable interests. DENVER PUBLIC SCHOOLS
Denver Public Schools fields 12 competitive boys/girls teams at 6 high schools. We work with coaches to host practices, matches, and tournaments throughout the academic year. In addition to high school teams, we also work with P.E. classes and afterschool programs to introduce the game of tennis to youth of all ages and abilities!
